Hey Blues Fans, here’s a quick intro lick that’s a nice addition to your blues arsenal. All the greats, like Larry Carlton, Robben Ford, Billy Gibbons, Stevie Ray, etc., use the lick. It’s shown in G, but can be moved up and down the neck to play in other keys.
One of the keys to making this lick sound good is to nail the '1 to the 1' move. This is where you play a note on one string, then slide up to the same note on the next lower string. In this case, it’s the G note on the high E (third fret), followed by a slide to the G note on the B string (8th fret).
