How many years can a mountain exist
Before it's washed to the sea?
How many years must some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free?
And how many times can a man turn his head
And pretend that he just doesn't see?

Chorus

How many time can a man look up
Before he sees the sky?
How many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry?
How many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?

Chorus

Blowing in the Wind - Bob Dylan
Blowin in the Wind is a song written by Bob Dylan in 1962 and released on his album The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan in 1963. Although it has been described as a protest song, it poses a series of rhetorical questions about peace, war and freedom. The refrain "The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind" has been described as "impenetrably ambiguous: either the answer is so obvious it is right in your face, or the answer is as intangible as the wind"

In a 60 Minutes interview, Dylan said that he probably wrote "Blowin' in the Wind" in 10 minutes.

Girl from The North Country (v1) - Bob Dylan
Girl from The North Country was written following Dylan's first trip to England in December, 1962, upon what he thought to be the completion of his second album. It is debated as to whom this song is a tribute; some claim former girlfriend, Echo Helstrom, and some Bonnie Beecher, both of whom Dylan knew before leaving for New York. However, it is suspected that this song could have been inspired by his then girlfriend, Suze Rotolo. Dylan left England for Italy to search for Suze, whose continuation of studies there had caused a serious rift in their relationship. Unbeknownst to Dylan, Rotolo had already returned to the United States, leaving about the same time that Dylan arrived in Italy. It was here that he finished the song, ostensibly inspired by the apparent end of his relationship with Rotolo. Upon his return to New York in mid-January, he convinced Rotolo to get back together, and to move back into his apartment on 4th Street. Suze Rotolo is the woman featured on the album cover, walking arm in arm with Dylan down Jones Street, not far from their apartment.

You Ain't Goin' Nowhere - Bob Dylan

Don't Fear The Reaper - Blue Oyster Cult
(Don't Fear) The Reaper is a song by the American rock band Blue Oyster Cult from their 1976 album. It was written and sung by the band's lead guitarist, Donald "Buck Dharma" Roeser and was produced by David Lucas, Murray Krugman, and Sandy Pearlman. The song is about the inevitability of death and the foolishness of fearing it, and was written when Dharma was thinking about what would happen if he died at a young age. Lyrics such as "Romeo and Juliet are together in eternity" have led many listeners to interpret the song to be about a murder-suicide pact, but Dharma says the song is about eternal love, not suicide. He used Romeo and Juliet as motifs to describe a couple believing they would meet again in the afterlife. He guessed that "40,000 men and women" died each day, and the figure was used several times in the lyrics.

Chorus + Intro Riff (2x)

My blood's so mad feels like coagulatin',
I'm sittin' here just contemplatin'
You can't twist the truth it knows no regulation,
And a handful of Senators don't pass legislation.
Marches alone can't bring integration,
When human respect is disintegratin'.
This whole crazy world is just too frustratin'.

Chorus + Intro Riff (2x)

Think of all the hate there is in Red China,
Then take a look around to Selma, Alabama!
You may leave here for four days in space,
But when you return, it's the same old place.
The pounding drums, the pride and disgrace,
You can bury your dead, but don't leave a trace,
Hate your next door neighbor, but don't forget to
say grace.

Eve of Destruction - Barry McGuire
"Eve of Destruction" is a protest song written by P. F. Sloan in 1965. Several artists have recorded it, but the best-known recording was by Barry McGuire. This recording was made between July 12 and July 15, 1965 and released by Dunhill Records. The accompanying musicians were top-tier LA session players: P. F. Sloan on guitar, Hal Blaine (of Phil Spector's "Wrecking Crew") on drums, and Larry Knechtel on bass. The vocal track was thrown on as a rough mix and was not intended to be the final version, but a copy of the recording "leaked" out to a DJ, who began playing it. The song was an instant hit and as a result the more polished vocal track that was at first envisioned was never recorded.

McGuire's single hit #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and #3 on the UK Singles Chart in September 1965.

Forever Young - Audra Mae and The Forest Rangers
"Forever Young" is a song by Bob Dylan, recorded in California in November 1973. Written as a lullaby for his eldest son Jesse, born in 1966, Dylan's song relates a father's hopes that his child will remain strong and happy. Not wishing to sound "too sentimental", Dylan included two versions of the song on the Planet Waves album, one a lullaby and the other more rock oriented.

:·..·:·..·:·..·:·..·:

Soulful vocalist Audra Mae makes country, blues, and rock-influenced music with an earthy, often acoustic vibe. In 2004, Mae relocated to Los Angeles and found work as a songwriter, signing a publishing agreement with Warner/Chappell. In 2009, she released her debut EP, Haunt. That same year, her cover of Bob Dylan's "Forever Young" appeared on the FX motorcycle gang drama Sons of Anarchy.

Back in Black - AC/DC
Back in Black is an album by Australian hard rock band AC/DC. It is the seventh Australian and sixth internationally released studio album by the band.

Released on 25 July 1980, Back in Black was the first AC/DC album recorded without former lead singer Bon Scott, who died on 19 February 1980 at the age of 33, and was dedicated to him. The band considered disbanding following Scott's death, but they ultimately decided to continue, with encouragement from Scott's parents, and shortly thereafter hired Brian Johnson as their new lead singer and lyricist.

When I'm dead and laid out on the counter
A voice you will hear from below,
Saying "Send down a hogshead of whisky
To drink with old Rosin the Beau.
To drink with old Rosin the Beau.
To drink with old Rosin the Beau,
Saying "Send down a hogshead of whisky
To drink with old Rosin the Beau".

Then get a half dozen stout fellows
And stack them all up in a row
Let them drink out of half gallon bottles
To the memory of Rosin the Beau
To the memory of Rosin the Beau
To the memory of Rosin the Beau
Let them drink out of half gallon bottles
To the memory of Rosin the Beau

Then get a half dozen stout fellows
And let them all stagger and go
And dig a great hole in the meadow
And in it put Rosin the Beau.
And in it put Rosin the Beau.
And in it put Rosin the Beau.
And dig a great hole in the meadow
And in it put Rosin the Beau.

Then get ye a couple of bottles.
Put one at me head and me toe.
With a diamond ring scratch upon 'em
The name of old Rosin the Beau.
The name of old Rosin the Beau.
The name of old Rosin the Beau.
With a diamond ring scratch upon 'em
The name of old Rosin the Beau.

I feel that old tyrant approaching,
That cruel remorseless old foe,
And I lift up me glass in his honour.
Take a drink with old Rosin the Beau.
Take a drink with old Rosin the Beau.
Take a drink with old Rosin the Beau.
And I lift up me glass in his honour.
Take a drink with old Rosin the Beau.

Rosin the Beau - 97th Regimental String Band
"Old Rosin the Beau" (or "Rosin the Bow") is an American folk song popular in the 19th century, probably of British or Irish origin, first published in Philadelphia during 1838.

An earlier version, "Rosin the Bow" (not "Beau") refers to rosin with the bow of a violin, but both cover the same general subject (see below: Full lyrics). There are many variations of the song(s), and the tune has been re-used in other songs for political campaign jingles, slave songs, comedy songs, or other folk songs.

Verse 1:

A
Twenty-five years and my life is still
Bm
Trying to get up that great big hill
   D A

and I - I am feeling a little peculiar
         A
And so I wake in the morning and I step outside

and I take a deep breath and I get real high and
  D A
I scream at the top of my lungs "What's going on?"
